Reflecting on attempts by man to stop the purpose of a Manifestation of God and, as usual, utterly failing to do so....In this case I'm writing about events in the life of Baha'u'llah, the Prophet/Founder of the Baha'i Faith.  But throughout recorded history, the ultimate supremacy of the intent and purpose of all the major Manifestations of God, whether, Krishna, Zoroaster, Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad, the Bab or Baha'u'llah, all have fulfilled the trust placed in Them by God, and progressively and successfully guided mankind on its journey toward the Kingdom.  They have done so in spite of all the opposition, cruelty and indifference of many.  They are greater than any force that can be arrayed against Them.

I was sitting ‘round the fire
Just thinking ‘bout my Lord’s journey
How He dawned upon this world
Like a young Sun following winter
And you know we’d waited for this
For such a long, long time
But some said: Thus far and no farther

Well we make our plans
And the Lord He does make His plans
He called upon the leaders
In Tablets bright and bold
He was clear that
If they turned down this chance
To build the Kingdom,
For them it’d be: Thus far and no farther

Well it was pits to prisons
And heavy chains to poison
They took away everything
He’d had in this world – from purse to home
But they failed to douse the flame
He’d set ablaze amid the world
To them He said: Thus far and no farther

The beauty of the Lord watched
From the hill of faithfulness
Some loved-ones of God
In the claws of the dogs of earth
He called out the names of all but One
When a Voice cried: Thus far and no farther

I was sitting ‘round the fire
Just thinking ‘bout my Lord’s journey
How He dawned upon this world
Like a young Sun following winter
And you know we’d waited for this
For such a long, long time
But we wait thus far and no farther
Thus Far and No Farther
